W.T. Waggoner Estate Inc. was started in 1849 by Dan Waggoner. Dan began buying land in western Wise County in 1870. In 1873, Dan and his 21-year-old son, W.T. (Tom), drove a herd of cattle to market in Kansas and returned with $55,000. This was considered to be a fortune at that time. It was seed money to start an empire. As the land was cleared for settlement, they gradually moved to the west, buying grasslands and having holdings in six counties. Dan passed away in 1902, and W.T. Waggoner continued to expand and operate his ranching interests until 1923, when he formed what is known today as the W.T. Waggoner Estate. The W.T. Waggoner Estate stretches into six counties, with headquarters in Vernon, Texas. Main interests of the company are ranching, oil and approximately 26,000 acres in cultivation. The horses are bred for working ranch purposes, and many still carry the bloodline of the famous Quarter Horse Poco Bueno. Descendants of Dan Waggoner sold the sprawling ranch to Kroenke Ranches in February 2016. Kroenke Ranches now owns ranches in Canada and the U.S. The main office for the ranch is located in Vernon, Texas. The headquarters for the ranch, known as Zacaweista, is located 13 miles south of Vernon. The ranch consists of approximately 525,000 contiguous acres, which makes it the largest ranch in the nation under one fence. It employs approximately 96 people, ranging from cowboys and farmhands to oil field workers to office staff. Ranch management constantly strives to implement proven modern techniques into the operation, making the W.T. Waggoner Estate Inc. one of the largest cow-calf enterprises in the country. W.T. The historic O RO Ranch, best known by its O RO brand, is located in northern Arizona about 50 miles northwest of Prescott. The cattle are branded O RO and the horses RO. Cowboys usually refer to the outfit as the “ROs.” The ranch contains the 100,000-acre Baca Float No. 5, as well as an additional 157,000 acres on the west side. The JJJ Corp. has owned the ranch since 1973. Neither the land nor the remote O RO have changed much in the past century and a quarter. It’s still some of the roughest and most untamed land in the Southwest, with elevations running from 4,000 to 7,500 feet. The ranch is divided into five yearround cow camps. Cowboys throughout the West consider it the top ranch of its size. In the early years, it was truly a “horseback ranch” in that all the work was done from the back of a horse. All the supplies had to be hauled in by freight wagon and pack mules. Its muledrawn chuck wagon was one of the last in Arizona. Jane Droppa, who owns the ROs along with her family, shares the philosophy of maintaining tradition while staying current with modern trends. Her dedication to raising beef while preserving the rugged, horseback nature of the job makes for a unique outfit, and cowboys recognize and appreciate the opportunity to work at the ROs. A BAR RANCH CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA • 918-697-6717 • ABARRANCH.COM • @ABARRANCH A Bar Ranch’s multigenerational legacy began in 1884 on the Cherokee Reservation in far northern Craig County, Oklahoma. Headquartered today in Claremore, Oklahoma, the A Bar Ranch is a multifaceted cow-calf ranching operation spanning six Oklahoma counties and two Texas counties. The ranch maintains a herd of 4,000 cows and breeds more than 1,000 replacement heifers each year. The ranch markets more than 6,000 head of replacement females annually through both private treaty and three production sales held at the ranch through its livestock marketing business. The Panther Creek division in Claremore, Oklahoma, is headquarters to the ranch’s equine operation. Mike and Martha began the breeding program in 1985 out of necessity as their ranching business grew. The ranch’s demand for a quality ranch horse remains today and continues to evolve. In 2020, the ranch was bestowed the American Quarter Horse Association’s “Best of the Remuda” award. The breeding operation consists of 80 broodmares focused on strong mare families with cow sense, conformation, athleticism and trainability. The majority of mares are naturally serviced to A Bar Ranch sires consisting of sons of Metallic Cat, Woody Be Tuff, Boonlight Dancer, Tanquery Gin and Dual Rey. The ranch also hosts its annual Remuda and Colt Sale each fall along with its $40,000 A Bar Ranch Horse Futurity. The futurity began in 2018 and has since awarded more than $160,000 to cowboys competing in four events on A Bar-bred 4- and 5-year-olds. 12 Invitational Ranch Horse Show & Sale Lot 5 - Consigned by

BONDS RANCH SAGINAW, TEXAS • 817-437-0002 • @BONDSRANCH Bonds Ranch was founded in 1933 by P.R. (Bob) Bonds after he purchased part of the Mary Hicks Ranch, just north of Saginaw, Texas. Not being a cowboy himself, Bob hired Owen (Big Pete) Burnett in 1944 as ranch foreman. Pete Bonds, Bob’s youngest son, was mentored by Burnett following Bob’s death in 1954 and eventually took over the full-time management of the ranch in 1970. Historically a cow/calf operation, under Pete’s management, the operation became more diversified – expanding its cow/calf genetics, grazing yearlings on leased and purchased land in various states, and finishing cattle in feedyards. The ranch expanded with the purchase of land in Falls and Hemphill counties in Texas and in Union and Colfax counties in New Mexico. Under Burnett’s guidance, Bonds knew the importance of a good ranch horse and became dedicated to breeding quality ranch quarter horses. He needed a stout and smart horse that he could count on every day. In 1971, Bonds purchased mares and fillies from Mrs. Ott Burnett, a cousin of Burk Burnett. As thanks for being generous in a business deal, Senator William Blakely gifted Bonds Ranch a breeding stallion, Concho Jim, in 1974. In 1991, Pete was AQHA World Champion in Amateur Team Penning on Concho Juan Vito, by Concho Jim and out of one of those original mares. These original genetics are still prevalent in the broodmare remuda along with modern cow horse, cutting, and roping lines. With such diverse operations and locations, Bonds Ranch quarter horses must be versatile. Horses need to withstand the mountains and rocky terrain of New Mexico as well as the muddy oat fields of Marlin, Texas. Ranch horses are used for every phase of ranch life – from dragging calves to doctoring yearlings to sorting cows. They are also used in ranch rodeo, ranch horse competitions, cutting, sorting, reined cow horse and roping. 14 Invitational Ranch Horse Show & Sale Lot 6 - Consigned by
